13 month old pomp losing hair

my pom doesn't really look like the way a pom is supposed to look- a lot of his hair is still straight especially on his back--although he's beginning to lose hair now--will he lose this hair off his back as well as all over and begin to look like the way a pomp is supposed to look???

I have a 10 year old pomeranian and her fur looks similar to that of yours in the picture. This is because I have never shaved or cut my pom's hair so it doesn't get all poofed up. I prefer this look to the usual poof, because once you cut it, it will keep growing more and you will have to cut it always. Also, their hair looks a lot more healthy when it is not shaved/cut because it doesn't look dry. So there is nothing wrong with your pom, mine looses patches of hair about once or twice a year around her bum, but that's normal.
