3 yr old Pom shaking and lethargic

My 3 yr old Pom has been shaking and lethargic. She just wants to be held. When I set her down, she shakes and has been kind of hiding(?). It's now dinner time and she usually barks at me to feed her. Seems to have no interest. Will see if she will eat. Could this be something serious?

You need you need to put some karo syrup on your finger, and put it on the gums and mouth.

Hi. You should probably call your vet about the baby being shaky. My baby was acting like that too, and it turned out to be a side effect of Prednisone pills he was taking because he had pulled a muscle in his neck. The vet said that the shaking was a side effect of the prednisone. He's off it now, and he's not shaking any more. I had looked up shivering on the internet, and it said that other possible causes could be if the Pom has a fever or if she has diabetes or hypoglycemia. I hope your baby is feeling better now.

That's exactly what my Pom would do when we fist got her. She would shake and stare off like she wasn't fully there. It lasted with mine anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes. It may not be the same thing though, but my vet diagnosed her with seizures. My Pom is 2 yrs old. When I got her she was 1 yrs old, her previous owners used her as a puppy mill and she was never given her shots or meds. Hopefully it's just a phase for you. Seems like Pom's tend to change off and on and then return to normal?
