a rescued pom

On saturday 2/28/09, I received an email from the humane society telling me that Alvin was up for adoption. I rushed to the shelter to take a look and fell in love. His history was that the last owner couldn't keep him because her other dog didn't like him and she only had him for three days. She had received him from a friend or relative, and that is all I know.

I brought him home along with my other pom I have had for 3 yrs, and the reception was cold (it is getting better), but that isn't the problem. The issue that I'm having with him is that he was neutered and he wants to hump my other pom. He runs around in circles, and he keeps wanting to take off. I have only had him for 4 days now so I know I have to give him time. I'm just wondering if this behavior is because he is missing his original owner. I keep thinking that poms are so loyal to one person - is he trying to go home? please help.
