Agressive Pomeranian Male (9 weeks old)

Hey all..
I'm a first time dog owner and i do not know what to do! I got my puppy a week ago (He is 9 weeks old, 1.4 kg) and my experience has been terrible since. He is a purebred registered pom with a serious attitude. I take him out to potty and he plays a bit (constantly eating grass & trying to eat flowers) when I go to say no and do the whole cesar millan "tsst" and tap on the side he just runs away, when I finally have enough and pick him up he COMPELTELY loses it, growls and snaps like crazy and will not calm down for atleast 10 mins. I've also tried laying him on his side and waiting til he calms down but instead he squirms shows his teeth and continues to growl more. He also HATES being held, i cant even hold him longer than 2 mins without him growling and snapping. The breeder is completely shocked and says she's never had any problems like this before, i'm wondering if he's so agressive because he was the biggest in his litter (atleast 2x the size of his siblings, vet couldnt even believe hes only 9 weeks) .. what do i do? i love him and he is adorable but im starting to resent him because he's so viscious.

ps -- he is the same way with his toys, he always plays with them as if he is trying to kill them? i cant to an obedience class because he only has one shot (got it at 8 weeks)

My pom loves running and biting
by: Tess

I have an 8-month old male pom. He keeps running around the house for at least 10 minutes and I can hear his panting sound. Is that normal? My problem with him is, he loves play-biting everything including me and when I scold him, he would growl at me. He pees and litters inside our home.. he does it outside but not often. How do i stop him from play-biting? Thank you.

I dont agree with above comment

I think the above comment could really go wrong. He will just become more fearful and defensive or it may work in showing him you're the alpha dog of the pack but then he will attack everyone else he encounters who doesn't growl at him viciously!

I think saying NO! in a firm voice and then putting him in a room and closing the door or a /kennel where he is enclosed and you ignore him he will realise this is bad behaviour. It will take time, but persist.

Aggressive Pomeranian

Mine was like that at 8 weeks, would try to put her harness on and she would be like kojoe but I did the holding her on her side or back with my across her I did not hurt her after a few times and a couple of weeks she was fine. She is now the sweetest dog.The back seemed the best for me.
Best of luck she will mellow out and good luck.

Pomeranian Aggressiveness

Do not let the dog out unles syou have it on a sturdy short (6 foot or less) leash so you have control. Instead of laying on side put him real fast on his back and make a "Y" with your first two fingers of your hand and put them fast over his neck so he is on ground. This will be hard at first and you may even be nipped. Don't give in!!! Then put your face above his and growl like everything viscious. You will establish that YOU are now the top dog. He was biggest in litter. NOW you are the boss. Do this a few times when he needs it and he will learn. On the leash you can keep him from flowers. If he tries to eat grass yank gentle but firm on leash when saying NO!. Try this ...it worked well for me. I have POM/Parson Russell terrier. Looks like a fox. Was sassy at first but is now the most gentle well behaved dog you could wish for. Loves to be scratched on shoulders on his back..but only hold when he wants it..but that is often now. All I have to do is click my long fingernails and he will come running for a back scratch...Very very gentle but was nippy at first. I got him at about 5 weeks old. He was dumped on vets doorstep. So his age was a guess by my vet. Good luck and stick with the training.
