Another 'pom or not' question.

We have an 8 month old puppy, who was sold to us as a "pomeranian mini" (that's what it says on his vaccine cert), which I find a bit of a dodgy description. Other things that make me doubtful is that he weighs 4 kg at 8 months, which is a bit big isn't it? He's also a weird colouring: all red, but with a white chest and bits of black on his tail, is that normal? Besides, he wasn't expensive at all, about EUR 130, compared to the normal EUR 250 in this country.

Now, he's absolutely amazing as he is, but I'm just wondering if any of you would know if he's a true pomeranian? It's kind of important, because my mum wants to buy a female as well, and it would be pointless to get a purebred girl is our boy is a mix.

Pictures are all from today.

Pom or what
by: Mary

Mine looks amazingly like yours. Red with white crest and a few black hairs in its tail. Mine is a hybrid. A pom and parson russell terrior. It was left on the vets doorstep so we had a DNA test done to find out whats in him. It is fairly inexpensive. Now they do it with a saliva swab. Ours was done with blood test. Now it is more simple. It will tell you the top 4 breeds in your dog. Mine only had 2 breeds so it is called a hybrid. Good luck with your dog..he looks adorable!!!
