Ash

I had a purebred American Eskimo for 13 years, when I finally had him euthanized he was diabetic and totally blind. Even in his last days he was happy, full of life and love, and the joy of my heart. Losing him was like losing a child to me (I don't have kids). I thought I would never be happy with another dog. Eventually I had to admit that I wanted to let another dog into my home and heart. I started looking online at Eskimo's for adoption. I came upon an ad for an eskimo/pom mix, took one look at the dog's photo and knew I had to have him, come hell or high water!! I filled out the application and drove 2 hours to go see him; the minute Ash was brought out of his kennel for me to meet him, I knew he and I were going to be inseperable. He is truly the cutest little dog I have ever come upon; women and kids stop us on the street all the time to ask what breed he is and where I got him.

Ash is a "lady's man"; he loves women!! He is friendly towards men but acts a little standoffish at first, then he is all over them. He has the energy level of a radioactive element, and loves to zoom all over the house and yard. He loves his squeaky toys and will go fetch them if we toss them for him, although bringing them back directly isn't his forte!!! He is still a bit mouthy but it is usually when he is super excited and in play mode. He is as smart as a whip and learns commands exceedingly fast, but will test us when he thinks he should. He is such a joy to have; I truly recommend this breed mix to anyone who wants an energetic, playful, affectionate dog.
