The Blue Merle Pomeranian

The blue merle pomeranian is actually a black or black & tan dog with the dilution gene acting upon the black areas of the coat. This is exhibited in a classic gray/black pattern.

The points (eye rims, nose, lips and pads) are black. One or both eyes may genetically be blue, contain blue flecks, or may be brown. The Pomeranian Standard does not allow for blue eyes - eyes must be dark to conform to the standard.
