The Blue Pomeranian

The blue Pomeranian has a coat that is solid in color. It is actually light to dark grey, frequently with a "bluish cast". In blues, the undercoat is also grey.

The coats of blue puppies when they are born appear silver or may appear black before developing a silver-grey undercoat with a darker blue top coat. Some Blues may appear to be black until they are seen next to a Pom that is truly black in color. The points (eye rims, nose, lips and pads) are also blue. If the coat contains any color other than blue, they are more appropriately described as parti-color.

Do you have a photo of a blue Pom to share? Send it in and we'll gladly attribute the photo to you. We, and our future visitors thank you!
