Bonnie Bear - Shiranian

Bonnie Bear was being sold at a local pet shop. We had a habit of stopping by just to look at the puppies. We had no intention of buying one since we already had a shih tzu and a yorkie at home. However we took one look at her face and were completely smitten! When we got her information we found out that she had been in that cage for 6 weeks and had only been taken out twice by people to play with her! Bonnie is the sweetest most loving dog we have ever had but because of her past she is the neediest! She needs to be with one of us and touching us at all times. When one of us comes home she is the first to come running and great us like royalty. However she was a menace for the first year - she chewed everything in sight! She chewed two pair of my good shoes, she chewed my son's quilt so many times it is more patches than quilt. She has chewed the sheets on the bed as we slept - the clothes in the wash basket, pillows on the couch - I could go on and on! But when we would catch her and say "Bonnie, no!" she would roll over and wag her tail and give us her belly to scratch! I don't think we have ever been mad at her for more than 3 seconds!

She is too cute for our good and has completely taken over our hearts. She is 18 months old now and her behaviour has improved lots. She hasn't chewed anything in weeks and her boisertous greetings have calmed down. Even though she was the worst behaved puppy we have ever had, she is our favorite and continues to bring so much love and joy to our lives.
