Breeding a standard and mini Pom?

Can a Standard Male mate safely with a mini female Pom?
My standard Pom is about 4lbs and mini maybe 2 lbs.

I need to know if I should separate them when she goes into heat.

For one, there is no such thing as a standard and a mini pom, a pom is a pom, yes some may be smaller then others but they are all just a plain old pomeranian (Check the breed Standard on the AKC website). The male should never be larger then the female and it's not recommended to breed a female that's less then 5lbs (6 would be better) regardles of the size of the male.

No if your female is only 2lbs she shouldnt be bred at all!!
