Experienced Pom owners - If you had to choose, female or male?

Hi, I was just wondering what peoples preference was over a Pomeranians sex. Do you prefer a male or a female, and why? I see people talk about other breeds/animals and some say that males are more affectionate and obedient while girls can be a bit stubborn (then sometimes someone says the complete opposite) and that males will urinate around the house (mark their territory).

Well it really depends on your situation. I personally love female poms. I find them to be more affectionate and easier to house train. If you have children I would highly recommend a male pom. They do tend to be more playful but sometimes are harder to house break. Females tend to love more one on one attention and are much more cautious of strangers then males. I find females are more laid back then males. I have a female pom at the moment and she gets along get with my five year old. My five year old can pull on her and pick her up and my pom doesn't care. Its really all about how poms are raised. If they grow up in a nice calm loving environment, they are more likely to have better personalities.

Male all the way!

I have both, my male is loving and playful and obedient....my female is stubborn, snotty and does whatever she wants....he eats what we give him she sniffs and picks over everything and won't eat unless we are not looking! She is a princess all the way!
