Gizmo

First Day Home
Gizmo is a 10 month old Pomimo. I saw him at a pet store, and felt so bad for him and where is was that my two sons and I bought him, and brought him home after calling my husband. Despite being in such an icky place (a small box for almost two months), alone, and with no out-door-walks or proper training, he is smart! He was named after the 1980's Gremlin movie because his ears were so big as a puppy, he reminded us of the good little one in the movie!!
Gizmo is crate trained, sleeps throgh the night (on the bed with two kitties), and barks when he hears strangers or the door bell- he is a home protector with a good growl, otherwise he does not yelp in the house.
Gizmo chews on almost NOTHING!! Except his chews, he is very good about that, he does like eating his blankets in his kennel though, and has a thing for tug-o-war with socks... even if they are on your feet sometimes- apperantly we don't need socks in this house : )
If you blow in his ears he knows its play time, and flops over batting with his front paws and tounge hanging out. He eats toilet paper... the rolls come undone! He can jump over 5 feet in the air, and because he came into a house with cats he plays like them. He has 2 brothers- a blue point siamese and a bengal, so he wrestles with them the way they wrestle with eachother.
Gizmo knows sit, and no, his name, will never take a treat out of your hand, and will calm down at any time during play. He loves to shake, and picked all this up with little effort of training. He loves car rides but they almost always make his tummy a little sick (poor puppy!). He must know we are usually headed to a huge county dog park!!
I discovered that there is no longer cat yak or hair-balls in my house anymore, it all just stopped when he arrived... go figure, my cats don't yak anymore??? And when he sleep, sometimes he runs (all 4 feet in action) and growls at the same time (I think he's chasing the kitties)... it is pretty funny. And he never sheds any of that fluffy hair of his, it's wonderful!
Gizmo is very good when I give him a bath. But the best part is when he is done. After he is dried off with the towel, and put on the ground, he runs around at warp speed- head to the ground (literally plastered to the floor), with his two front paws plastered out sideways, flattened to the ground with half his belly as well, he takes off all over the room soley running on his two back feet. He is drying himself off at 50mph half flattend to the ground. Going in circles, like a rear wheel drive car out of control- he crashes a few times... it lasts about 15 minutes, he's hyper, bouncy and is the silliest thing we have ever seen, seriously, I need to video record it!!
We were never a "smaller dog family", but he is just perfect, he is loving, he is sweet, he is just the right amount of kisses, he is soft, and we could not picture our family without him, he is here for the long haul!!
