We have a precious nine & a half year old West Pom (what you are calling a Weeranian), we have had since she was 6 weeks old. She was given to me as a reward for finding her mom,(a purebred Westie), who got lost from her human dad for 3 very long, sad days. Right after I found the lost Westie, we found out she was pregnant and I was given pick of the litter. We knew a purebred red pomeranian had gotten her accidentally. Ironically, 4 months earlier my only child left home for college. Helen was just what I needed. She is the most awesome, unique, beautiful, precious little girl in the whole world. I know I am bias, but aren't we all? She has the best personality I have ever seen in a dog. Like many others, she thinks she is a kid. She is very intelligent and knows how to wrap me around her little paw. She is very kind, gentle, loving and tolerant. When Helen was three, I was shocked to discover I was pregnant. Needless to say, Helen was put through quite an ordeal when the new human baby came home from the hospital! She came through it all wonderfully and also adjusted to four more step-siblings. She is loved very much by all of us. Every spring I have her long thick winter coat cut to about a half an inch long. She seems to tolerate the hot weather much better. When she was a puppy, she was mostly black with 4 white feet and a white belly. The first time I had her groomed i didn't recognize her when I picked her up. She was brindle underneath all that hair. With age, her facial hair has become mostly white. She does have one peculiar habit that I have never seen any other dog do. When she was about 8 weeks old, she walked over one of my tennis shoes and it must have hit her in just the right spot. She has humped a shoe ever since! I got her a pair just for her and she has never bothered any others.
