I know it sounds extreme, but I found sliping on a diaper on my 4 yr old rescue pom is out of her crate works 90% of the time, the other 10% she still manages to pull her diaper over just enough to poop on the floor without soiling her diaper. I do not use a diaper in her crate overnights to give her a break from it. I potty her during waking hours every 3-4 hrs. I tried the other housebreaking methods and it wore me out-all she did was pee every hour in the house, on the couch, carpet, rugs, floor etc..even after walks, she would potty in the house within 30 min -again. The diapers work, she doesn't like to soil herself, and one diaper lasts all week. I throw it away from repeat use-not soiling. I also can trust her around the house-without constantly watching her. I felt defeated at first, but now I feel better because the alternative would be to return her and she likely would end up euthanized. Many people give up dogs for housebreaking problems.

House breaking 4 year old male neutered pom by: katz52@morrisbb.net
Is it possible to house break my pom and if so how? He will run all around outside, but only poops & pees when he comes back inside. Anyone have any useful info? Thanks for your help.
