Litters per year?
by: Sheila

If your Pomeranian is a toy or tea cup, I would not breed them at all, too many die. It is safer to spay and not chance cancer. I have been through it, and it is terrible, and a horrible thing to put a furbaby through. If you must breed, think of the bitch, she can and should ONLY HAVE ONE LITTER in her lifetime without calling it cruel. Pomeranians are not like other dogs, they are very sensitive to breeding and their lives are cut short if you over extend them. Most often their pregnancies are so difficult they can actually die in the delivery and if they live, sometimes the pup dies. Usually they have only one or two at best. The small breed dogs were not meant to be breeders. Hope this helps. If you love your dog, talk to your vet. I'm sure they will agree with me. If you ARE a breeder, please don't. Too many dogs need to be adopted already and loss of lives in shelters etc is way to high already. God bless, go with your conscience and your heart please, not wallet. :D
