update on my pom

Thanks for all your advice, it's been a week since her illness, and she is back to normal eating healthy and regularly and playful. Now however she seems to pee when she is excited! Meaning anyone coming into my home or me leaving the home.

I am trying the soothing treatment of, "don't worry i will be home soon, and put down paper, (she was housebroken until she got sick) let's see if that works.

I think it was a little of everything, I think she missed her old owners, and was not really adjusting to my jack russell, and although I spent two solid weeks with her when I got her while on vacation, she seems to have separation anxiety. Only time will tell. Oh, and yes the vet said if she gets sick again he will work a payment plan, my jackrussell goes for his checkup regularly, so he knows I pay my bills, it's just been tough going lately with the economy and everything going up.

Thanks again for all your help.

Separation anxiety?

Could your new pet be missing her previous owner?
Since she is drinking, thats a good sign! My mom just went through this with her new pet an 8 month old schnoodle.....he refused to eat for a few days, vomitted a few times, and he drank just a bit of water............she left food out for him and within the week he became more accoustomed to her, and his new surroundings, he is thriving now. Give it some time. Could you seek advice from your neighbour about your pet's likes, dislikes, favourite treats, favourite toys etc....? Best of luck!!

Call your vet and explain how the dog has done. If you are truly not able to afford another visit..tell the vet and ask if something can be worked out. I don't know of any vet that would absolutely refuse you help especially after you have been there once already. Do your bill on payments if you have to but don't let the dog suffer. Your vet will be willing to work with you if you ask I'm sure....Mary

Vet Care
by: Kristin

If you cannot afford to take the puppy to the Vet, take the puppy to a non-profit organization that will treat the dog for little or no cost, it sounds like she is making a slow recorvery if she is being active, keep an eye on her and try an locate a non-profit vet care facility in your area.
