Is it okay to feed my pom only wet food??

I got my self a pom, benjie. Benjie is only 10weeks atm and very healthy. I only want to feed benjie the best. I bought him a bag of Blue Buffalo, which he was eating in the beginning, and i've bought him couple cans of Merrick cowboy cookout, which he eats all the time! he loves it! I try to mix the dry with the wet but he eats around it and leaves the dry behind.

I'm concernd because I've been reading that poms should eat more dry food then wet food. Is it okay to feed benjie only wet food if its all natural healthy good food? Also, is there any wet foods that are not so wet and still healthy?

You should not feed your Pom wet food unless you absolutely need to for health reasons. I fed my first Pom dry food, and switched to a mix of wet and dry for a while. He stopped eating dry food and started eating wet only. This is not good becuase Poms should be fed dry food only due to dental issues. Wet food causes tooth decay/loss. Only thing you can do is wean him off the wet food and find a brand of dry food that he likes. I tried a few different kinds, and now I feed him Nature's Recipe which he seems to enjoy. No more wet food. He wants it really bad but I don't want to cause health issues of any sort. Plus, wet food seems to make their poop soft, which is not fun to clean up and wash out of their furry butts lol.

wet food for poms?

A wet food diet will cause tooth loss. You need to give your dog dry food in order to keep his teeth healthy. I tried several dry foods until I found the one he liked the most. I tried Diamond, Blue Buffalo, Beneful, Natural Balance, Merrick-Puppy Plate. His favorite is Puppy Plate by Merrick. I give him Canned food as a treat, usually on the weekends.

Most dogs prefer wet food but they should have some dry for their systems. Talk to your vet and follow the directions. Switching around on foods can give your dog runny poop and is hard on their systems. Get instructions and follow them for a healthy dog.

we feed ours...

We feed our puppies Bil-Jac Puppy. It's a dry food that they sell at pet stores. Our boys can't get enough of it! They both only ate wet food for a while, because we were trying to up their fat intakes (they were rescues) but then we weaned them off (wet for breakfast, dry for dinner) and now we only eat dry with wet for treats. :)
