Is my Pom a pure breed?

I've been told my Pom is not a pure Pom - how can I tell? He is rather larger than (10-12 lbs) most Poms I've seen,a nd his snout is not as narrow.

Purebred?
by: Kathleen

Unless you know for sure that both parents were purebred Poms (ex. registration papers), you can't know for sure that yours is purebred as well. Your vet may be able to look at the dog and give you an idea whether or not it is a mixed breed (and what the other breed is). Pom mixes are becoming more popular these days as well (ex. Maltipoms, etc.).
