I actually have one too
by: Elliott

My dog Scamp is said to be one but looks nothing like this (besides the fur). He looks more labish, wish I could share a pic.

Very possible!

Your dog looks exactly like our dog but Sammy's ears fold down. We think he's a Labrador Pomeranian mix too. We also have another adopted dog and people say they look like twins but we think he's a Sheltie Pomeranian mix!

Yes it is possible
by: Mandee

It is possible that it can be this breed. We have one that is exacly the same. I mean breed anyway. He is a little different looking but you never know what a dog could lok like if you mix this two beautiful dogs.

Have you DNA tested him?

pretty
by: Debbie

Whatever mix he is, he is pretty. We have a pomeranian sheltie mix and she looks a lot like your dog but smaller. Sometimes I think mix breed dogs make better pets and they live longer than a lot of thorough breds. He just looks like a sweet lovable dog and a good dog.

test results
by: Mary

our test showed Jack Russell terrier and Pomeranian...they say he is a "Hybrid" cause he only has 2 breeds in him and he is called a Jackaranian. ...Mary

Was wondering what the end results were?
by: Flick

Just chanced upon your post, and from the photo, your dog really reminded me of a dog we had when I was a child; she was a stray so we never really knew her breeds (even now) and had white fur with brown patches and half floppy ears.

So I was wondering what the test results showed in the end?

Thanks.

lab DNA test
by: Mary

Thank you Kathleen for the new info. It's good to know the price is cheaper now so more people can afford to have it done. Actually our vet gave us a break on the cost because we had taken the dog from him when it was abandoned at his vet clinic. The actual lab cost at that time was $129 on the brochure and Dr. Joe charged us $35 for his office call and taking of the blood sample and sending it in for us. We were surprized at the results as we never guessed our dog had Jack Russel in him. He looks more like a Pom. He looks like a little red fox. Again..thanks Kathleen for the new info....Mary

There's also a link to a kit that's available thru Onlynaturalpet.com on our main mix page. Current pricing is about $75. Here are the details:

breed

believe it or not you can get a DNA test done at the vets. He does a blood samlpe and sends it to a lab. They can tell you the top 4 breeds in your dog. It costs about $175. We had ours done and found out he was pom and jack russel. I had the brochure from the lab but have misplaced it. But our vet had the info. Our vet is Joe Kelly at Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. If interested you could telephone him to get the lab name. Good luck...Mary
