Large Poms

I had a pom for 15 yrs as a child. He was quite big compared to what I see now. He would stand almost to my knees. I was wondering if anyone knows if they are still breeding this at this height or all they all going to the small size?

Spitz

I think you're thinking of a spitz. Pomeranians are the smallest in the spitz family, but there are (I think) 3 other spitz types, named according to size.

larger poms

there are still some larger pomeranians, they are considered throwback poms. you can type that into google and it will give you more information on it. now the pomeranian breed standard according to akc is 4-7lbs.
