Maya

Maya was the sweetest dog. She was always patient with my brothers and sisters even when they were toddlers and didn't know how to handle her. When we brought home a German shepherd puppy she stayed by it's side until he fell asleep. The German shepherd, Bebo, attached himself to her and treated her as a mother. She never made a mess and only barked to alert us of a stranger. Maya made sure to alert us anytime she needed to go outside and was a calm affectionate girl. She was a good swimmer up until this fall when she fell into the pool and drowned late one fall night. She was 16 years old and was barely showing any indication that she was getting old. She died almost exactly a month after Bebo was put down. We'll bury her in the backyard.
