Meeko

Meeko is a precious Shiranian adult whom we have raised since he was 8 weeks old. Meeko is now 14. He is a great house-buddy, loves to go outdoors for walks, but loves to return to his comfy home environment shortly after. He has never fathered a litter and thinks he is still a puppy himself. Meeko seems to have gone deaf(or partially deaf) over the past couple of years and he has arthritis in his hip.
Meeko follows his "pack"(myself and my son) around the house as though he must keep tabs on us at all times. He prefers to take a spot on the carpet between the two of us to make his job easier. He also sleeps beneath my bed(like a cave-dweller) and fears stormy weather. He will go nuts at the first sign of a rainstorm's approach. He has even been known to jump into my bathtub to find safety from the coming rain. Meeko was named by our children from the Disney movie, Pocahontas, because he so resembled that Meeko in coloring and the black patch over most of one eye. He weighs approximately 12 pounds now and loves to eat. However, he tends to get a mouthful and transport it to the middle of our den and drop it in the carpet in order to eat each morsel individually. Then he returns to his bowl for another mouthful.
Meeko loves his teeth-cleaning bones, but has never been much for toys except while he was a pup. I think that anyone would love having a Shiranian join their family.
