My 2 Months Old Pomeranian Doesn't Stop Whining At Night.

Hi everyone. So this is the 2nd night in my house for the pomeranian. He just will not be quiet if I leave him alone at night. I've read that if he starts whining, then I should ignore it and in 10 minutes it will be quiet and fall asleep. However my dog will not stop whining! He whines even more if I put him inside his basket. I really dont know what to do right now.
Ive tried sitting next to him till he falls asleep but he always wakes up in about 10-15 minutes and starts whining again.
Please some advice would be really helpful. Thank you.

Whining Pommies
by: Pommie Lover

I'm sure as your pommie has grown, the whining stopped. But I will say this: a two month old pommie is too young to be away from its mother. I would not touch one until 10-12 weeks old. I got mine at 10 weeks. She did not whine but she was needy. I had her sleep on my chest. The breathing and body warmth was a great comfort to her. Also keep the crate covered so your pommie feels she is in her cave. To this day she sleeps with me and is always by my side. She is a beautiful and affectionate little fur ball.

Pom pup whining all night
by: Beezle65

My older pom when he was a pup whinned for hours and hours, drove me nuts!!!! The first 3 nights I tryied to deal with it. but after that I brought the kennel close to the bed, covered it with a towel and would lighlty tap on the top in the same rythem of the mother's heart beat. After about 10 minutes of that the first night Bowie went right to sleep. I only had to repeat that for a few more nights and Bowie felt right at home in his kennel

My 2 month old pom did the same thing
by: Anonymous

Hi, we encountered the same thing when I brought home my 2 month old pom Hamlet, 4 weeks ago today. I have to say it was hard to hear him whining and yelping pretty much all night. But we held strong, and didn't let him out of his crate unless to check and see him if he had to go potty outside. And once we seen that he didn't need to, we put him back in the crate. And let him yelp all night. After the 3 night of doing this consistently. We have been able to sleep 7-8 hours every night.SMILE Good luck to you!
