my pomeranian acts like he is scared of hardwood

We just got him about 4 weeks ago. He was fine at 1st but the last few days on the hardwood he will walk backwards and like scopes out the area the runs to carpet. But now he don't even want to come off the stairs. Why??

My pom does the same thing. It's slippery to him. If I keep his nails trimmed and the hair on the bottom of his feet trimmed, he braves the hardwood. It's not as slippery that way.

They have a hard time on it..it is like walking on ice...they are afraid and can actually get hurt. My 5 year old dislocated his knee. It can get costly if you have to have surgery for them. Get some narrow throw rugs and provide a path for him. He may get over the fear that way. Please take this seriously as it is a big thing for the dogs.
