My Pomeranian Wont Stop Chewing!

Bentley is my first pom. I totally adore him. However he has had a chewing habit since we got him at 8 weeks. He has chewed all the legs of my chairs, coffee table, archway and doors. I spread a cayenne paste on everything and now he loves to eat hot peppers! Now he has moved on to sheets and blankets. He had his own bed on the floor. It was a kennel, but it was so hot that we allowed him to sleep at the foot of our bed and he loves the fan. He doesnt just chew the fabric, he eats it! I dont know what to do. I dont want him to get sick either and he is destroying my bedding! What can I do. I have even given him his chew ring in case he gets bored at night. I dont want to crate him in the heat. Can someone help me pls!

Well first I would never give my dog anything spicy. You know how it effects humans, animals cannot tolerate this. As far as the chewing goes, I read no mention of you giving your dog "chew toys" , rawhide, nylabones...etc. You need to establish what is acceptable items to chew and what is not. If your dog misbehaves, crate training works well (like a timeout), reward good behavior. It will take time and patience, but it can be done.
