my puppy is not barking

I have 3 months old pomeranian puppy. He is not barking since the day I bought him. What should I do with him?

My pom is 2yr and 3mo old and he does not bark unless he sees other dogs. Other than that, super quiet.

my pom didn't start barking until she was almost 6 months old. enjoy your pom not barking for as long as he chooses to because once they start barking they bark at EVERYTHING.

Hi there:

I have a 2 yr old Pom. When I got her, she was 1 yrs old and never barked. Now she is very active and loves to bark at times. I just think it is just their way of not being comfortable yet. Trust me, as your dog becomes comfy in his home, you will soon hear him bark pretty often. Pom's by nature can be shy at 1st, from what I read. :)

I agree with Sharon. When I first got my Pom, Trei, he was very quiet and shy. He was about three and half months then. Now he is eight months and he is vivrant and all over the place. Trei is very well behaved, but much more playful, active and vocal now. Now, he's my best friend... Poms are suspicious by nature so give him time to get comfy and warm up and I'm sure eventually he'll be a handful too!

I would take him to the vet and ask if there is anything wrong with the vocal chords; he may just be shy.

It's ok...

Don't worry your puppy is just fine!! My Pomimo did not start barking till she was about 4 months old. Now her bark is soooooooo shrill it hurts your ears.....but she has become a very good watch dog. My advice is to enjoy the solitude, your puppy will bark when he is ready!
