Please help!!! I rescued Bear 2 yrs ago from the shelter, he is about 6 yrs old ,only 5 1/2 pounds and would spin like he was going to go right thru the floor!,never did figure out why,( I am sure he was abused) and he doesnt spin so bad now, anyway I found Bella at the shelter about a month ago. She was a stray and they knew nothing about her. She was filthy, stinky and scared to death.. Well I brought her home still lethargic from surgery(spay),2 days later took her to a vet for check up. Doc said Kennel Cough, and gave Codine and antibiotics,1 day after that she started siezures and cough was horrible, I thought she might be to far gone to save :(. Took her off the codine, and went to new vet. New Vet sooo wonderful, gave new , better antibiotics and Bella is a new dog now.. Here is the problem--Bear wont eat!he wants to be in a lap constantly as soon as someone gets home , wont even look at her and is spinning as bad as when I got him. He hates her! I try to give them both the same attention separately and together. I fed them apart because Bella would eat everything( now she is a little piggy and also weighs in at 6 lbs) I love them both very much but don't know what to do.
My husband isn't much of a dog person but he holds Bear all the time now. I always touch Bear first when I get home and then as I am holding him,, greet Bella. Bear sleeps with us and Bella is just as happy in her own bed (yay).Any suggestions on how to get them to warm up to each other? And how to get poor, jealous little Bear to eat? He has never been a big eater anyway, but now eats nothing unless I give him people food or chicken treats. Thanks for reading!!
