Old Pomeranian

Hello, I do rescue work here in Tampa Bay and no one would take a twelve year old Pomeranian who seems in perfectly good health. What kinds of things do I need to watch for? Are Pomeranians relatively healthy at this age? I cannot keep this dog, I have too many other animals, but I worry I will not be able to place him. He had the same owner for all this time and she got rid of him because he barked at the baby. Very sad. Thanks for your feedback. BD PS Also, do Pommies like cats? I hope so!

foods to hand feed with

Hi, I had a beautiful female 10 years old who unfortunately had mouth cancer and I had to hand feed her for the last 2 months of her life. I found that chicken breast thinly sliced went down a treat and she loved it. It worked out financially the same amount as normal dog food, I also did the same with lamb and certain vegies. I also bought her puppy milk which she loved and it gave her additional nutrients. Hope this helps and good luck.

WE HAVE A 15 YEAR OLD FEMALE POMERANIAN NAMED SALLY. SHE HAS LOST ALL HER TEETH AND MY WIFE FEEDS HER BY HAND. WE HAVE TO CUT THE DOG FOOD INTO THIN SLICES AND PLACE IT ON HER TONGUE FOR HER TO SWALLOW. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN GET HER TO EAT. WE LOVE HER VERY MUCH AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF FOODS DO OLD POMS EAT?
