Hi I have 4 rescue poms all adorable. 2 are overweight (my fault). What is the best diet for them? There are so many - all claiming to be correct. Also, the amount is never really clear.
feed them twice a day. No junk, no treats. Dry food for weight management is the best. for experiment put a piece of dry food to the water. You will see how big it will get. Mind that same happens in the stomack too so you dont have to give them much of it at a feeding.

Overweight poms by: Rhonda
Hey there, Poms can be very fussy eaters and if you change their diet too fast it could turn bad. Try cutting back the amount of food and try and feed in am or early afternoon. Feed according to weight which is mostly on the bag. I have my 11 year old on senior best diet which is from the vet. It is a little bland but at least he likes it. Also check to see if they have a thyroid condition. You can have your vet do a quick check and if they do I recommend erbal supplements instead of the medicine you get at the vets office.
