Is it safe for a female pomeranian to mate with a miniature pincher? They are about the same size but he is younger than her by 6 years.

I have the same thing going on at my house except i dont know if my pomeranian is pregnant or not. she is about 2 yrs old and the miniature pinsher is only 9 months old. he was attached to her when i walked in my room but... i dont know if she is pregnant.
