Pom cries at night sounds like a child crying

We adopted a 4 year old female Pom from a breeder, she is such a loving little girl but she cries in her sleep it really sounds just like a frightened child having a nightmare. It really disturbs us and we want to help her but really dont know what to do, she also makes really loud noises like passing gas during the day. She is very acive and takes good walks with us and isnt overweight at all (5 lbs).Since she was a breeder she has never been trained to do anything but go potty outside. Is she too old to train the standard commands of come, sit, stay??
