But he still goes into fits of crying at night like he's in terrible pain. It happens after hes been laying down for a while I can't stand it anymore I'm crying with him every night for the last week. Can anyone help us please.

yelping

I adopted a rescue pom about 4 months ago. She yelped at night until we figured out she needed to be in the same room with us. Immediate success.

Helping at night

Hi. I'm not sure when you posted this but I thought I'd tell you about our similar experience. My pom likes to be near people including sitting under their feet at the couch. As a result he got stepped on. He cried for a while and then seemed to be calming down. I let him sleep with me to keep an eye on him. Every time he moved or rolled over or woke up he would cry. We thought he had broken something and almost took him to the emergency vet but decided not too because aside from the occasional crying he seemed fine. I took him to our regular vet that morning and it turns out he had a bruised lung. He cried because when shifting positions or moving after sitting still his lung would move and hurt. He was prescribed some puppy pain killers/anti-inflammatory. Within 24 hrs he was practically back to normal. The Rx was just enough to take the swelling down and heal faster. His bark has never been the same but only when he wakes up with a bark kind if like when your voice cracks or sounds different like need to clear your throat first thing in the am, it's actually a little cute and there is nothing wrong with him as a result if the whole incident.

I hope you were able to help your pom and your vet may have been right. Keep a close eye and try to figure out what is happening when he cries. I slept with my hand on my poms chest and as a result I knew he cried when he took a deep breath but was fine taking quick shallow breaths. This info is valuable for your vet to correctly diagnose your baby. Good luck.
