Pomeranian Adoption

Pomeranian adoption is a lifetime commitment. By adopting a rescued Pom, you are giving him a second chance at a long, happy life in a stable "forever home". There will be an adjustment period and some work will be required for you and your new dog to adjust.

A rescue dog differs from other dogs in many ways:

  • Most rescue dogs are adolescents or middle-aged dogs, since few are rescued as puppies. Even a senior rescue dog can make a great companion and can share the rest of his or her life with you.

  • Rescue dogs may have been abandoned or abused, so they may seem more cautious around people.

  • A rescue dog may not seem interested in eating or playing in his new home at first. He may still be missing the family who abandoned him.

  • With a rescue dog, you "get what you get". If you want a specific sex or color Pom, or have specific desired markings, a rescue dog may not fit the bill. On the other hand, if you are willing to open your heart and home to a Pom in need, a rescue Pom may be just right for you!
