My registered Pomeranian was selectively bred to my other registered Pomeranian. The puppies are two days old now and one of them was born without a tail. Never heard of this before!

It happens. by: Anonymous
Saying all Poms have tails is like saying all dogs bark. Most do. Some don't. It is very uncommon for one to be born without a tail, but it does happen. Many breeders put them to sleep to hide the evidence, or because there are sometimes other deformities involved. If you are sure you have a Pomeranian (AKC registered from a legitimate kennel), then you have a tail-less Pom. Be sure to have it spayed or neutered, then enjoy your puppy. After all, it loves you, even though you don't have a tail!

Are you sure this is a pom? They always have a tail. You may have gotten a schipperke. It's a canadian black dog that resembles a pom. hope that helps.
