I have a 2yr old male pom and he growled since he was a puppy, he usually growls when he is excited or playing with me. He even grows at other dogs but that usually has a bad reactio .

My brother inlaw has a male pomeranian and he growls even when he is happy. The vet and other pomeranian owners have told them that it has nothing to do with aggression. It is just something all male pomeranians do. With teddy it sounds like he is trying to purr because he was raised with cats.

Sorry to hear that. My Pom is 8 years old and hardly barks at all. When he does, it seems he doesn't like the sound so he won't do it. No growling either. Good luck - you have to teach them "no" just like a child.

Growling and Barking

Pomeranian = Watch Dog/ Herding Dog... Growling at people is different tho...
