Pomerianian "latching on to arm or leg" humping
by: R'achal

What your little girl is probably and most likely doing is humping. Most People get all weirded out or feel like their baby is growing up too fast plus SHES A GIRL (thought only boys hump? no way)
In actuality it is a DOMINANCE THING. If she or he is humping you especially at a young age or if spayed or neutered then it is most likely her saying she owns you or trying to dominate you.
DO NOT encourage this habit.. its the same thing as if you let them watch you clean up their pee or poop... pack mentality. The lowest member usually eats the alphas poop. yuck.. it means they are dominant. Look at this human cleaning up their waste! Always put them up when cleaning. and don't let them hump. You always need to establish the master (or alpha) role.

she is humping you!

in my experience, as soon as my pom (almost 4 yrs now) latches my leg, she starts "jumping up and down"...or so i thought when she first did it. She is humping you! i asked the dog trainer about this behavior and she said that my pom must have discovered it feels good. yikes! i just move my leg away and tell her to "leave it" so as not to encourage her perverted behavior.

Sounds familiar NEW

Yeah, my Pom does this when he wants to be picked up and held. When I'm sitting in a chair he'll grab my arm and "hug" it until I pick him up.

Why your pom latches your arm NEW
by: Gemma

This may seem like common sense but my pop, poppy, always latches my arm when she wants a cuddle or out a walk and wants to go home. I know that when she does this she wants to be carried.
