Pomeranian - redness and swelling

I just bought a pomeranian a few days ago. When I gave him a bath I noticed that his butt is red and swollen. What's wrong and what do i do?

Sore butt

How old is the pom you just got?..Sounds like maybe the previous owner didn't groom it properly and let the butt hairs get too long and if this happens, the feces will get stuck around the butt hairs and cause an irritation and infection..They may have just given it a bath and clipped the hairs shortly before you bought the pom..Take it to the vet to be sure though..Sounds painful!

Sore Butt

take the dog to the vet...that is the first thing you should think of when the dog's health is at stake. Never heard of this problem before...it needs immediate attention. How would you feel if your butt was like this? Wouldn't you want to go to the doctor for relief?
