Pomeranian Shows Symptoms of Parkinsons

My little boy is 14 1/2 years old and has always been very healthy. Two months ago, he began shaking and trembling (similar to a person with Parkinsons). I took him to the vet and she said it's probably a brain tumor and that he will pass in 3-6 months. I don't have thousands of dollars for MRIs, medications, etc. His condition has worsened as he paces all day & night as if he's confused. He walks and falls over and seldom sleeps. He still has a good appetite and drinks plenty of water. I know that I should put him to sleep, but I love him so much. I've had him over 14 years and can't bear to do it. Before I put him to sleep, I'm just wondering if it could be something other than a brain tumor that I could afford to treat. Any ideas?
