sick pom! HELP!

My 8yr old pomeranian has been sick for about a week now. With a one year old running around I guess I didn't pay enough attention. He's been throwing up and has diarrhea - I noticed he hasn't touched his food for a day - I bought him a new brand to see if hed enjoy that - still nothing - I put some turkey broth on it and microwaved it for 30 seconds. NOTHING! - so I made him some rice and boiled chicken. He didn't like the rice but loved the chicken - seemed hard for him to chew, like he just chewed it on the side - spitting some of it out. He's done things like this before but seemed to bounce off of it ... I def want to take him to the vets - but wonder if this is just a recurring problem and if so what can i do in the mean time?
