Sick pomeranian

My 16 year old pom has been vomiting every night for the last 4 days. He still eats twice/day. He doesn't snack that much. I am worried that there may be something serious. I have an appt to take him to the vet next week. Is this too late?

Sick Pom
by: Lori and Peanut

Hi Sheila:
Glad to hear your little got through that. Didn't know gum could be fatal to dogs. Wonder what else there is. Peanut is doing better. Not vomitting as much. The vet said to feed him more often during the day and in smaller amounts. Got the blood work results back and everything seems normal. I think the problem is a collapsed trachea. Hopefully his heart medication will help alot. Thanks for your support. Much appreciated.

Hi Lori and Peanut,I am praying for you ,and hoping that furbaby gets well soon. Im so glad you got to the vet, things happen so fast with these lil ones. Buffy got into a friend of Emilees' backpack and pulled out a piece of a piece of Stride gum.Within minutes she was almost comatose! Why they dont put decent labels on this stuff before they sell it to people I dont know. SHe survived ,but later we found out that only one little piece can kill an 80 lb dog in 15 minutes because of the Xylitol in it,I wonder what it does to kids and adults..Buffy has been through so much,we are much more careful now. You did all the right things,GOd bless and keep it up,Peanut loves you so very much and knows what you are doing to help xoxoox hugs,Sheila n Buffy

PEANUT

Thanks Sheila for you comment. I did take Peanut in yesterday. He already had a heart murmur and slightly enlarged heart last year. Now it has gotten worse. He is on heart meds now and just waiting for the blood work to come back. Surprisingly, he did not vomit at all today. I have been feeding him more often and in smaller amounts and that seems to be helping. He has some spunk to him today. Dr. said he is not dehydrated. They found his trachea is a little collapsed too. Too many things at once, but he seems better today. Thanks again!!! Keep in touch.

Vommiting not good
by: Sheila

He needs to see the doc NOW hon, he could dehydrate quickly and even though they eat and drink water, it happens fast, are you giving him twice daily the Nutra Cal because that will help but he needs to have fluids if he is vomiting and something is making him sick, could be a blockage in his intestines. Buffy has been through ALL of this and more so please go to the vet asap.I will be praying for your furbaby, luvnhugs, Sheila n Buffy
