Some sort of problem with Pomeranian?

My friend has 8 yrs old male pom, till last week he was fine and healthy. Since last week he has some sort of problem during nights. He suddenly gets restless and scary, his pupils go left to right and right to left with fast movements. He looks weak and falls slightly on his sides. If he is taken for a walk for urination and defecation, he becomes normal. All these happen for a few minutes. His eating routine is also changed, he eats very late meals.
Can anyone suggest what could have been the problem?
And your solution for it is very much appreciated.

Excited Pom

My 1 1/2 yr old pom gets very excitable when she has to go potty..She starts picking on me, the cat, and our Rottweiler..Doing all sorts of things to get attention..Then when we let her outside, she goes potty, comes back in, and settles down and goes to sleep..We think it's her way of telling us she has to go out..

Try keeping him in a different environment

Are you sure he's not sensing something that has scared him? Dogs could be quite sensitive. Try placing him in a different environment, like ask a friend/relative to keep him for a night or two and see if the same thing happens.
