Stanley is the best thing i could ever of asked for! He is such a sweet heart. I got stanley not knowing anything about shitaranians :) thats what i call them haha. He loves to play with cats and thinks every dog is his best friend! However i have noticed that he is very stubborn!!!! I am trying to break the biting but let me tell u, it is a very long proccess. He is about 3 1/2 months old. But all around a loving loyal dog.

Biting
by: Diane T

Yes, Bear bites sometimes when he plays, but normally he doesn't bite hard, but I am still working with him to not bite at all. And yes, it is a long process...we're just about there though, and he has just turned a year old this month !! :-D

Playing

I did the same thing as the others above. Now Libby knows how hard she can play bite and it doesn't hurt. This is something that is usually learned from the other in the litter or their mom, so we have to be the one to teach them what is too hard. If she gets out of hand and is biting too hard, I just stop playing. She will come over and lick my hand and then we start playing again. All though my pup is now 6 months. It will take a while for them to get everthing. They will not not learn overnight.

Love the name you have for his breed. HA!! The only way to break the biting (and I've done this with success) is to try one of two things. Either stop the play when he starts to bite or give him a toy to chew on and say no eatch time. My Pomino was biting my house slippers (one is now a mess until trained) and at first I thought it was cute, but now he gets a toy after I say no. He's just playful. Now how do I stop this constant barking. Ha! Love my Rags too. Sweet, cuddly and humorous, but man does he love to yap. Ha!

biting
by: Mary

Our doggie did a lot of biting when it was young..hard sharp bites too. But it was just part of growing up..he eventually learned only to bite on toys. If he bites you.immediately make a "yelp" sound like a hurt puppy and then say "NO" firmly. He will grow out of it.
