Weird Dog Noises

Zoey is 12 years old, weighs 4.5 pounds and according to the Vet is doing well considering her age. Lately she's making sounds a lot of the time like, "errr, errr" that range in pitch - low to high.

Our vet does not know what to make of it other than to have us administer pain medication to Zoey twice a day. Even when medicated Zoey continues to make these strange sounds.

This is new behavior and we don't know what to make of it? Should we be concerned?
