What could be wrong with my 1 year old pom?

Pixie is a 1 year old female with typical pom behavior. Very alert, barks, begs for treats, etc. It is now Monday evening and she started exhibiting signs of not feeling well on Saturday afternoon. No vomiting, no diarrhea, but does not eat, run, play. Her gums and tongue are pale white, she does not appear to be in any pain. She will not drink much if anything unless I give it to her. Tried Pedialyte, syrup ( in case of hypoglycemia) and even chicken broth, just for fluid intake, and nothing changes. It does not appear to be contagious, as none of my others are sick. Just a tummy ache or what????? Throw me some ideas, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

BIG FYI
by: Dorinda

On Tuesday, July 5, we still saw no signs of improvement in Pixie. We took her to our vet and are sad to say she did not survive. She was found to be suffering from Hemolytic Anemia. This is a blood disorder that actually causes the body's immune system to attack healthy red blood cells. She had 8% of her red cells when we reached the vet. Should she have lived, she would have needed several blood transfusions with no guaranteed success. Our vet said he has had to euthanize a pup as young as 6 months because of this horrible disease. In my earlier post, I mentioned all the symptoms, but the white gums and tongue are really the main indicators of a more serious medical condition. Pixie was only 1 year old when she passed away. Our hearts are heavy, but hopefully she will not die in vain. If we can help spread the word to help another pom family, then she has contributed more than her short life showed. If I can be of any assistance to anyone out there, let me know. Thanks and please take a moment to remember all of our four legged family members who have gone before their time.
