What's wrong with my pom?

I have a 2 year old pom. We just adopted him last week. He was very playful and energetic when we got him. Now he just lays around doesnt eat much and is dry coughing like he has a hairball stuck. He had a hairball come up earlier the day it started. He has only been doing this for two days now. I would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like he neeeds a vet

I work at a vet clinic and it sounds like he could have an upper respiratory infection or other problems with respiratory system. I'd take him to the vet ASAP.
