won't eat or drink after surgery

My pom had surgery for luxating petella four days ago and he won't eat or drink on his own. I have to give him water with a medicine dropper and hand feed him a little dog food at a time. What could be causing this?

my little pom had same op 3 weeks ago. he is 1 & half years old. he was eating next day. i would ring the vet. it sounds a bit worrying not eating on his own for that long. check it out. shouldnt cost any extra & it will give you peace of mind. hope all goes well i know what your going through.
