Our Shiranian is a lovable dog that we rescued from a home that allowed the entire litter of puppies to run wild in the house. At four months old our little princess had never even been in a collar, never been on a leash, and had never been taken on a walk.

She is just over a year old now, and she is so smart. We had originally doubted her declared breed, but looking at photos online we can see that she is truly a Shiranian just as we were told. She loves our 3 children. One of our big housebreaking "problems" was trying to follow the rule of "once you let her out of the crate she MUST go outside immediately". In her case, she needs time to be excited and say "hello" to the family before we put her out or she won't do her job. Then after 4 or 5 minutes if we put her out she'll go! Once we figured that out, we haven't had another problem! ALSO, we have been so amazed by her in the car. We live 11 hours away from family, but when we need to travel with her she is the most awesome traveler. All she wants is her pillow next to someone in the front seat area, and she'll just lay down and enjoy the ride.

I love Shiranians. She is so attentive. She acts like she knows exactly what we're telling her and she often barks back like she's talking to us. It's so funny. I'm so happy she came to live with us. I am very blessed.

count your blessings that you have him
by: Irma

I just lost my wookie, he wasn't even 2 years and was hit by a car. He was our baby, he slept with us on the bed or his own bed, he had one on each side of the bed. Whereever we went he was there on the front driver side, he had goggles so if it was too windy he could still keep his head out. He had a gaping toothe, that we loved. He was so obedient, he had a lion cut and he loved it. He was quiet, not a yapper. Whenever i went shopping, it was for him, when i came home, he would be on his hind legs begging, let me see. When I dressed him, I gave him his choice on what to wear. He would nudge his nose on the item he wanted. Now that he is gone it is so quiet, and boring, I don't know what we did before we had him. We loved him dearly and miss him. I am looking to find another, I know it won't be the same and will hopefully get one soon. I know the pain of losing one, but also know the love of owning one. Enjoy yours, they are such blessings
